Load Of Swift Bullshit

Now, contrary to what you might think, I don't just rush head first into writing these rants (usually). If something has pissed me off, then fine, I'm pissed. But when it's something that has two sides, I have a responsibility to research both sides of something and come out with the truth. This is what the media often claims to do, but we all know that's a crock of horse shit. For me, it's personal. When I put my name on something and throw it out there and tell people that it's the truth and that they've been lied to, that's fuckin' important!

So, I've spent a little time digging deeper into the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. In case you don't know, they're a group of Vietnam Veterans who say that John Kerry is most certainly no "war hero" and that he doesn't deserve the medals and honors bestowed upon him. Well, ok, fine. My first thought was, "Who fucking cares? George Bush didn't deserve the Presidency, but he still got it." I really don't fuckin' care if Kerry deserves his medals or not; he's still ten times better than that Weed we've got in office right now.

But, I was curious, so I started doing a little digging to get more facts. It's hard to seperate fact from fiction, but thankfully we have the Internet where people like me can actually speak out uncensored and usually unbiased by politics or the public. The more I read, however, the more interesting the story became.

The Swift Boat Vets whole campaign seems to be centered around two things. The first is a TV ad they made called "Sellout" which claims that Kerry made himself a sellout by testifying before the Senate about the atrocities of the Vietnam War. You can view the ad in .mpeg format or just read the script on their website SwiftVets.com. So, ok, fine. They're pissed at him for calling all the other people who fought in Vietnam rapists and murdering butchers. I get that; it's understandable. It's the whole Code of Silence thing that you get with any military people or Cops. You don't rat out your brothers in arms. Everybody knows how that is. It's complete fucking BULLSHIT, but everybody accepts it anyway and we all know about it. I'll come back to this in a minute.

The second founding block of the Swift Boat Vets seems to be this book written by another former Vietnam Vet (and one of the SBV founders), John O'Neill. Supposedly, 'ol John Boy here tells all the dirty little secrets about John Kerry in Vietnam. You can buy O'Neill's book "Unfit for Command" at Amazon.com (Link).

Alright, now that I've been fair and let you in on their side of things, let's move on to the truth.

Remember that firsting founding block of their whole campaign? Well, boo fuckin' hoo. Oh, John Kerry's a sellout, so how can we trust him to run the country? What the fuck ever! Lemme get this straight. John Kerry goes to Vietnam and sees horrible crimes committed by the people he serves with, so he comes back and tells about what happened; THAT makes him untrustworthy? Instead of hiding the truth like the majority of Vietnam Veterans did, he actually told the truth and we're supposed to distrust him because of that? You have GOT to be fucking kidding me! Hey, Swift Old Farts, I got a breaking news bulletin for you: Everybody already KNOWS about all the horrible things that our troops did in Vietnam, you moron! It's been common fucking knowledge for the last several decades, idiot! While Vietnam Vets may not speak out publicly (for the most part), they do speak out to their families a lot of the time. Many people (myself included) have heard the truth from those who were there. We ALL know that you guys raped the Vietnamise women (and girls). We all know that you tortured and murdered helpless civilians. We all fucking KNOW about all the monstrous shit you assholes did over there! And now you're trying to tell us that we shouldn't trust John Kerry because of the fact that he actually had the balls to step up to the plate and talk about the fucked up things you bastards did? WE THE PEOPLE shouldn't trust him because he DIDN'T lie to us; because he broke the Code of Silence??? That has to be the DUMBEST campaign idea I've ever fucking heard.

Then we come to this O'Neill guy. He's writing this big bad tell-all book about John Kerry's time in Vietnam. Gee, I'd sure like to know how he did it. I mean, it must've been psychic revelations or something, because according to publicly accessable records, John Kerry's tour of duty ended and he went back home to the United States before John O'Neill even took command of his first Swift Boat unit. Um, hello! O'Neill never even served with Kerry! John Kerry and John O'Neill first met in 1971 when they debated each other on the Dick Cavett show (and this was soon after Kerry's testimony before the Senate).

So, here we have a group of people who're pissed off at Kerry for "breaking the code" and their best spokesmen against Kerry is a guy who never even served with him and only had anything to do with him because he was pissed off about Kerry's testimony! Oh yeah, REAL solid foundation you guys got there.

Then, let's add to this mix the fact that this group was founded and paid for by Republican donations and their so-called "media contact" (Merrie Spaeth, former Director of Media Relations at the White House during the Reagan Administration and head of Spaeth Communications) is a well-known Republican activist in Texas. Wow, there sure are a lot of Republicans (and Texans) floating around the SBV... I wonder if that has anything to do with why they're attacking and trying to discredit the Democratic Candidate for President... Nah, couldn't be that! Everyone knows Republicans wouldn't sink to such low levels, right? Yeah.... right....

One more little piece of interesting information. George Elliot (Kerry's former Commanding Officer in his Swift Boat unit) admitted in an interview with the Boston Globe that he had been pressured into signing an affidavit against John Kerry. Elliot told the Globe that he has made a terrible mistake and that, in fact, John Kerry DOES deserve the honors bestowed upon him for his service in Vietnam.

So, in summary, we have a group of Republican-funded Veterans who're openly still pissed at Kerry for being a sellout (by telling the truth) being spear-headed by a man who never served with Kerry. They're all saying that Kerry lied and cheated and whatever and that he doesn't deserve his Silver Star and Purple Hearts. Then, on the other hand, we have Kerry's former C.O. saying that Kerry deserves the honors he was awarded and that the only reason he ever said any different was because the Swift Boat Vets pressured him into it.

I don't think I need to point out where the truth lies here. Unless you're a total fucking moron (and most of you are, sadly) you can see it for yourself. The Bush-heads are freaking out cuz they see that we don't want that crusty old lying son of a bitch in office anymore and they've resorted to their staple of lies, misdirection, disinformation, and subterfuge in order to make the other guy look like a dick.

John Kerry probably is a dick, but I'd still rather have his stupid ass in office instead of Bush sitting their fucking things up for another term. In just four short years, Bush has managed to make us the Court Jester of the world. He's destroyed most of the good relations we had with other countries, started a war that didn't need to be fought and done everything in his power to strip the American people of their rights and freedoms bit by bit. I'll take a big mouthed asshole over that any day!

Swift Boat geezers, SHUT THE FUCK UP! You're all liars and fucking bastards. Stick to licking Bush's ass crack, it's what you do best.
